The project has developed and field-tested an approach to literacy instruction for young deaf and hard-of-hearing children that utilizes an educational television program (Between the Lions) and other engaging media components. Evaluation is ongoing, focusing on the components, feasibility and effectiveness of the approach.

Resources

Cornerstones Web Site has an online teaching unit with a story presented several ways, rigorous learning objectives, a lesson guide, interactive games, ASL video, and other materials that support story comprehension and vocabulary building.
