This e-book has been marked up to be accessible to screen readers, and to be completely accessible from the keyboard alone. If you are using a screen reader, the following instructions apply identically to both JAWS and Window-Eyes, with any exceptions clearly identified.
Reading This E-book
For convenience for both sighted and blind/visually impaired users, the table of contents has been placed in Adobe Reader's navigation pane. To toggle between the navigation pane and the document pane, press F6. To move from item to item in the table of contents in the navigation pane, press the up and down arrow keys. To select an item from the table of contents, press the Enter key. Selecting an item from the navigation pane will automatically shift the focus to the appropriate spot in the document pane. To return to the navigation pane and the table of contents, press the F6 key.
Playing the Movie Clips
There are four movie clips linked from this e-book. Each movie will play in the stand-alone Windows Media Player, and each contains captions and extended audio descriptions. You can access the clips by selecting the links as you would any other hyperlink in an e-book or HTML document. Windows Media Player will begin playing the clip automatically upon connecting with the server.
Here is a brief list of keyboard commands for controlling the Windows Media Player's basic functions.
- play/pause: CTRL+P
- stop and go back to the beginning: CTRL+S
- fast-forward: CTRL+SHIFT+F
- rewind: CTRL+SHIFT+B
