  • Version 2.5.0 (release) - March, 2010
    • Added support for TTXT file creation and automatic integration of TTXT files into MP4 and 3GP files via MP4Box.
    • Removed support for GRiNS player
  • Version 2.0.5(release) - January 2008
    • Fixed anomalous DFXP output which dropped random captions.

  • Version 2.0.4(release) - August 2007
    • Fixed default attribute problems when importing plain-text captions from files. This was reflected in some DFXP export anomalies.

  • Version 2.0.3(release) - April 2007
    • Fixed W3C DFXP file syntax bug (trivial)

  • Version 2.0.2(r) - March 2007
    • Export menu - W3C DFXP. Adds support for Flash presentations via Adobe Flash components and players that support it (e.g. NCAM's "CC for Flash" component and ccPlayer) through the W3C's Timed-Text Authoring Format 1.0 - Distribution Format Exchange Profile.
    • Edit menu - Insert musical note. Easily insert musical note into a caption and export into supported formats.

  • Version 2.01(r) - Original Release - March 2003
    • Macintosh Support – MAGpie 2 functions under the OSX operating system as well as on Windows 98/NT/2000/XP
    • Real media playback support for captioning and audio description – MAGpie 2 utilizes the GRiNS player's java interface to enable the captioning and describing of content that displays in the RealPlayer or the RealOne player.
    • Audio description support – users can write, time, and record audio descriptions for digital media
    • Support for Flash, XHTML+SMIL (HTML+TIME), SVG captioning, and collated text transcripts – utilizing MAGpie's XML project file structure and XSLT stylesheets provided, users have additional flexibility in the creation of resources for a variety of media types.
    • Spell check – eliminate typographical errors more easily.
    • Segmented captioning – users can create captions with karaoke-like effects
    • Improved interface – several improvements to the authoring grid have been implemented
