Forms and Flash MX
Non-Accessible Form (with Combo Box)
This is an example of a form that uses different Flash form elements: single-line text-entry, multi-line text-entry, combo box, radio buttons, and check boxes. All elements are accessible with a screen reader in FORM mode with the exception of the combo box. Screen readers will not read the options presented in the standard Flash combo box, nor is it accessible when using the keyboard. Utilizing the [TAB] key or the arrow keys will skip the combo box entirely.
Accessible Form (with Radio Buttons)
This is another example of a form that uses different Flash form elements, and is entirely accessible. Utilizing only single-line text-entry, multi-line text-entry, and radio buttons, this form accomplishes the same result as the example utilizing a combo box, but is fully accessible with a screen reader in FORM mode with the exception of the combo box. Utilizing the [TAB] key or the arrow keys allows users to select and deselect options.
